Moving the House Inside
Winter is tough for kids. All that energy, but too cold to go outside. Even with snow, you can't stay outside for long...unless you want some serious pain coming back inside as your too-cold nose adjusts to the warmness of a heated house.
To combat this too-much-energy thing, I try to bring some outdoor plaything inside each year. This year, it's a house.
One of my neighbors in Pennsylvania gave this to me - her kids had outgrown it. I love hand-me-downs!
The kids absolutely love having it inside. All of them have been playing with it again...which just goes to show you that even old toys are new if you give them a new location. They also love that it is in Sophia's room. They can close the door, crank open the heating register, and have a warm, cozy place to play.
And it's a great way to get more use out of the outside playthings!

Very cool! And with the undersea motif, it's like the little houses people put in their aquariums for their fish!
ReplyDeleteLOL!!! I never even thought about that!
