What's Bloomin'!

Well, it still continues...and I am starting to pick bouquets. Never have there been enough flowers in my yard to pick a bouquet. And most of them are from the seeds planted last year, which is soooo cool!

Bee Balm. Who knew this would smell so good? The flowers also look a lot like fireworks - and are blooming right in time for the fourth of July. I may need to plant a lot more of these!

The hostas I planted earlier this year have also bloomed. Now, hostas aren't known for their flowers. They are foliage plants - the large leaves that fill those shady places. But their blooms are so graceful...I wait to see them every year.

This week I am feeling especially lucky to have flowers, since there are so many fires in the western states. We still have a home, and the fires haven't come very close. We pray and hope for better success fighting the fires. And hope and pray for rain. Hope everyone has a good week...keep cool out there!

  1. So pretty! I love your bee balm too! And your hostas. I've been considering putting some hostas in my yard--there's one bit that almost never gets any sun, but it looks so sad once the daffodils have faded away. Glad the fires aren't anywhere near you either!
