My daffodils are starting to fade. Uncharacteristically, I even went out and deadheaded the flowers.
Deadheading is just taking off the faded flowers - it's not as gruesome as it might sound. Some flowers even bloom again if you deadhead, although I don't think that daffodils fall into that category.
This week has brought periwinkles out, also known as vinca minor. These are lovely little blooms that are difficult to see unless you are right on top of them. So, good for a walkway, not so good for a back-of-the-border plant. I have two different kinds:
The first is a variegated leaf, meaning there's two colors (white and green). The second has a solid green leaf. And you thought the difference was that the first had no weeds, and the second did have weeds. Ha.
Now I just need to get around to weeding!
Pretty!!
